Delivery arrangements

Shipping is quoted separately unless it is expressly included in the agreed sale terms. The quotation will reflect the destination, packing requirements, carrier service and insurance available for the object.

Collection or specialist hand delivery may be discussed where ordinary parcel services are not appropriate.

Packing, insurance and tracking

Objects are packed with regard to their age, construction and condition. Where available and appropriate, consignments are sent using a tracked service with insurance or declared-value cover agreed before dispatch.

  • Keep all packaging until the object has been inspected.
  • Report visible loss or damage promptly and retain photographs of the object and packaging.
  • Delivery estimates are not guaranteed and may be affected by customs or licensing checks.

Export and import controls

Antique arms, edged weapons and culturally significant objects can be subject to export, import or licensing controls. A sale or dispatch may therefore be conditional on the necessary permissions being available.

We will identify known UK export requirements for the object. The recipient is responsible for confirming that the object may lawfully be imported, possessed and delivered at the destination, and for supplying any documents requested before dispatch.

Customs charges

Import duties, taxes, brokerage charges and destination fees are the recipient's responsibility unless the agreed sale terms state otherwise. These charges are not included in a shipping quotation.
