A late 19th, early 20th century exceptional axe from the Songe/Sapo people of the Congo, the hand forged axe head comprising a 24cm sharp blade protruding out 22cm and attached by three arms, the central arm with a raised face on either side, the centre with 2 twisted wrought iron bars, the 37cm handle covered over it's entirety with copper sheet the centre section with coiled copper. #9964mao
