An early to mid 20th century North African, possibly Algerian dagger, slightly curved single edged 26cm blade in the style of a Flyssa with a small brass cross-guard, the hilt of leather covered with over 40 small cowrie shells, contained in a wooden leather covered sheath, 2 leather hanging straps with tassels, the bottom of the sheath with 4 tassels with cowrie shells attached, the whole sheath covered with approximately 80 small cowrie shells, cowrie shells symbolised prosperity.
