LATE 19TH CENTURY SOMALIAN BILLAOU SHORT SWORD #9824

A late 19th, early 20th century Somalian Billaou short sword, double edged hand forged 38cm blade with a raised central ridge either side, (blade spotted and light pitting) buffalo horn hilt the centre section of lead, horn and metal strips, the iron pommel in the form of a stylised crocodile, contained in the original animal hide sewn leather sheath, some gapping, horn hilt with some animal gnawing, overall in the sheath 62cm     #9824ro
