19TH c. AFRICAN CEREMONIAL STATE BAULE, ASHANTI SWORD #9729

An early 19th century African, Ashanti Chieftains State ceremonial Sword AKRAFENA, of metal with the typical double ball shaped hilt, inlaid with white pigment, the 10½ inch 27cm blade (rusted) with 3 rectangular holes and an old collection label overall 16½ inches, 42cm. Nice worn patina.   #9729mto.
