WW1 REGIMENTAL SKEAN DHU OF THE ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS. #9279

A rare First World War George V Scottish officers regimental skean dhu of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders(Princess Louise's), the 4 inch blade with scalloped back edge and, unusually, the blade is etched with the King's crown and monogram of GEORGE V and a Scottish thistle, also the retailer, JOHN JONES & Co 6 REGENTS STREET, the reverse side faintly etched with thistles, the black horn hilt with Turkish knot design with 5 silver studs and applied silver plated coronet and monogram of Princess Louise, the bottom mount and pommel with a strap work design, the pommel set with a citrine. The wooden sheath covered with black leather, the top and bottom mounts cast with entwined dragons. Overall 7½ inches. The blade stained and some sign of corrosion. #9279afo
