19th century IRISH PERCUSSION PISTOL. VICKERS DUBLIN #9148

A 19th century Irish overcoat percussion pistol, 28 bore with 3½ inch barrel with a fore-sight, the lock with a sliding safety catch and engraved VICKERS,  figured full stock with chequered butt with vacant silver escutcheon and butt-cap, trigger-guard with pineapple finial and engraved with foliage on the bow, stirrup ramrod. Surface pitting overall, In working order. Overall 7½ inches.  #9148rro

Peter Vickers is recorded in Dublin in 1824 which is possibly why the lock plate looks as though it was intended for a flintlock.
