The pictures illustrated do not form part of the sale, they show the treaty being signed and the handover of the island

James Brooke (The White Rajah of Sarawak) presented the island of Labuan to the British government in 1846 and he was appointed Governor and Commander-in-Chief. The island, in the South China Sea, off of the coast of Borneo became a Crown Colony in 1848 and was used as a Naval base. This pistol would have probably formed part of the naval colonies arsenal of weapons for issue.
