AUSTRALIAN, ABORIGINAL WOOMERA SPEAR THROWER #10170

Late 19th century Western desert, Western Australian leaf shaped Aboriginal spear thrower, Woomera, Miru, of Mulga wood and with incised zigzag decoration to front, chip carved reverse, spinifex resin at handle end, the spear attachment of wood and is bound to the end by leather sinew and covered with spinifex resin. The diagram and line on the back is possibly a signature of the maker. Some loss to the resin, nice patina. length 52cm  #10170moo
